As more states move to legalize marijuana, legalization proponents are glossing over the potential harm associated with wider marijuana use. While legalizing marijuana would have many positive social benefits, we shouldn’t pretend that it would be without consequences. Proponents who say marijuana is “harmless” are ignoring the science and doing a disservice to the necessary cultural dialogue around marijuana legalization.
